Project Overview

Our clients, Mr and Mrs Hanson, sought to maximise the potential of their garden by adding a functional, stylish garden room. They desired a space that would cater to various leisure activities, allowing them to entertain guests, enjoy movies, and indulge in games, while seamlessly blending with their contemporary home design.

The Brief

Space Utilisation
The Hansons needed a flexible layout that could accommodate multiple functions, including a cinema area, a man cave, and a games room, without feeling cramped.

Aesthetic Integration
The new structure needed to complement the existing modern aesthetics of their home and garden.

Natural Light and Privacy
Balancing the influx of natural light while ensuring privacy was essential, especially given the garden room’s diverse uses.

Installation

The project was carefully planned and executed to meet the Hansons’ requirements.

Key steps included:

1. Design and Foundation:
The garden room’s design incorporated a sleek, contemporary style with a robust foundation to support the structure.

2. Composite Cladding and Decking:
Contemporary slatted composite cladding was chosen for its durability and modern look, ensuring the garden room would withstand the elements while maintaining its aesthetic appeal. Decking and steps were installed to provide easy access and enhance the outdoor living space.

3. Bifold Doors:
The installation of 5m wide aluminium bifold doors with integrated blinds allowed for maximum natural light and a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The integrated blinds offered privacy and light control as needed.

4. Interior Setup:
The interior was customised to include a projector and ceiling speakers for an immersive cinema experience, a comfortable seating area, and spaces for a pool table and table football, ensuring versatility and functionality.

The Result

The transformation of the garden space into a multifunctional garden room yielded remarkable results for the Hansons:

Multifunctional Space
The 5m x 8m garden room now serves as a dynamic space for entertainment and relaxation, easily transitioning between a cinema room, man cave, and games room.

Enhanced Aesthetic
The contemporary slatted composite cladding, complemented by the decking and steps, seamlessly integrated the garden room with the modern design of the Hansons’ home and garden.
